I was born in Yorkshire, England, raised in Argentina and Immigrated to Canada at age seven. I have travelled extensively throughout Europe, Poland, and the Caribbean visiting many galleries, museums and Historical sites along the way.
The High Park, Bloor West Village, Swansea area in Toronto has been my home except from 1982-1998 when I lived in Barrie, Ontario. My love of art lead me to work and volunteer for Chris Yaneff International Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Factory 77 on Queen St. and the Maclaren Art Centre in Barrie, Ontario in various capacities. In 2006 I became an active member of Neilson Creative Art Centre, Etobicoke. I have studied with artists Steve Rose, John Leonard, and Brain Atyeo. Memberships in the Etobicoke Art Group and the Humber Valley Art Club from 2007-2010 contributed richly to my artist growth. In my spare time I photograph landscapes, Gallery Hop and keep up with local politics. Art-Making for me is the process of having a visual language which mirrors one’s life experience in a rich language of color, texture, paint and line. At first, I explored various themes with experimental freedom until I found my own style. I paint with acrylics on canvas and oil pastels on paper. I keep an art Journal which I love to add images and personal notes. My goal is to eventually publish these to teach young artists the value and beauty of keeping a visual diary.
